JULY 11, 1869
Pio Valenzuela (July 11, 1869 - April 6, 1956), a physician and patriot was born in Polo, Bulacan and was one of the Katipunan triumvirate.
Together with Supremo Andres Bonifacio and Secretary Emilio Jacinto, they form the core leadership of the Katipunan and started the revolution against Spain.
He supervised the publication of the Katipunan’s official organ which he named Kalayaan (Freedom) and was imprisoned by both the Spanish and American authorities.
Valenzuela was Physician General of the Katipunan and governor of Bulacan.
