Leonor Orosa-Goquingco (July 24, 1917 – July 15, 2005), the National Artist for Dance died at the age of 87 due to cardiac arrest.
She was born in Jolo, Sulu and was valedictorian at Negros Occidental Provincial High School.
Goquinco took up an ACS course at Philippine Women’s University and earned a diploma in Education majoring in English Literature at St. Scholastica’s College Manila and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
She finished graduate courses in theatre craft, drama and music in the U.S and founded the Filipinesca Dance Company.
