Margarita Roxas de Ayala (July 20, 1826 - November 1, 1869), one of the greatest businesswoman and matriarch of the Roxas, Zobel and Ayala families was born in Manila.
She was the daughter of Don Domingo Roxas, the founder of Casa Roxas later named Ayala y CompaƱia (Ayala Corporation at present).
She married Antonio de Ayala, her father’s business partner and they co-founded the Bank of the Philippine Islands.
Margarita also founded the Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion de la Concordia or the La Concordia College.
