AUGUST 19, 1890
Jose Ma. Panganiban y Enverga (February 1, 1863 - August 19, 1890), a propagandist, linguist and essayist, who was suffering from tuberculosis died in his boarding house at No. 2 Rambla de Canaletas, Barcelona, Spain.
He was the main writer and contributor of La Solidaridad using the pseudo names JMP and JOMAPA.
His fellow propagandists in Spain mourned his death. Graciano Lopez Jaena called him “Avenger of Filipino Honor”, while Jose Rizal saluted him with wonderful words.
Panganiban was born in Mambulao (now Jose Panganiban), Camarines Norte.
