AUGUST 14, 1835
Fr. Jacinto Zamora (August 14, 1835 - February 17, 1872), a secular priest who served the parishes of Marikina, Pasig and Batangas was born in Pandacan, Manila.
In 1864, he was tasked to manage the Manila Cathedral. Together with Fathers Mariano Gomez and Jose Burgos, he fought for the secularization of the clergy.
On the night of the 1872 Cavite Mutiny, Spanish authorities found an invitation from a friend that mentioned “Powder and Munitions”.
The GOMBURZA priests were arrested, tried and executed at Bagumbayan Field (Luneta).
