The U.S. Postal Service issued a commemorative stamp on January 7, 2003 featuring former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall.
Designed by Richard Sheaff of Scottsdale, Arizona, the Marshall stamp is one of the Unites States Postal Service's honorees in its Black Heritage Series, which salutes outstanding African-American activists, theorists, educators, and leaders.
