Carlos Peña Romulo (January 14, 1898 – December 15, 1985), a statesman, diplomat, soldier, journalist and author was born in Camiling, Tarlac.
At 16, he became a reporter, an editor at 20, and publisher at 32.
He co-founded the Boy Scouts of the Philippines and was a general in the United States Army and the Philippine Army.
He was also a university president, President of the United Nations General Assembly, and National Artist in Literature.
Carlos P. Romulo was a recipient of several other honors and honorary degrees.
