JULY 16, 1941

President Manuel L. Quezon re-appointed Justice Secretary Jose Abad Santos to the Supreme Court as Associate Justice on July 16, 1941.

He was Secretary of Justice under Governor-General Leonard Wood from 1922 to 1923. From 1928, he served under Governors-General Henry L. Stimson, Dwight F. Davis, and Theodore Roosevelt, Jr.

He sat as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court in 1932. In 1938, he was appointed Secretary of Justice for the third time by President Manuel L. Quezon. He was the chief writer of Quezon's speeches and statements.
