OCTOBER 9, 1934
The Seven Wise Men, consisting of Filemon Sotto (Chariman), Manuel Briones, Manuel Roxas, Conrado Benitez, Vicente Encarnacion, Norberto Romualdez and Miguel Cuaderno (who replaced Jose P. Laurel) were appointed to prepare the draft of the 1935 Philippine Constitution.
Earlier on July 10, 1934, Filipino voters elected 202 delegates to the 1934 Constitutional Convention headed by Claro M. Recto.
The 1935 Constitution was approved by Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt on March 23, 1935.
