Pres. Manuel A. Roxas

Manuel Acuña Roxas (January 1, 1892 – April 15, 1948) was born in Capiz (now Roxas City). He was governor in his province from 1917-22, member of the House of Representatives (1922) and House Speaker for twelve years. 

He was also a member of the 1934-35 Constitutional Convention, Secretary of Finance, Senate President from 1945-46, USAFFE Brigadier General and guerrilla leader in World War II. 

Roxas was the 5th President of the Philippines, the 3rd  president of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, and first president of the Third Republic.
