Canada Post released on January 21, 2022 a stamp to honor Eleanor Collins, Canada's first lady of jazz.
David Belliveau did the illustration based on a photograph by Franz Lindner, from the CBC Still Photo Collection.
Printed by Lowe-Martin, the stamp issue includes a booklet of 6 Permanent domestic rate stamps and an Official First Day Cover.
Born in Edmonton, Collins who turned 102 years old in 2022 began performing in the 1930s on TV and radio shows across Canada.
She was invested into the Order of Canada for the role as “a civic leader and pioneer in the development of British Columbia’s music industry.
