Today in Philippine History: Epifanio de los Santos

APRIL 7, 1871
Epifanio de los Santos (April 7, 1871 - April 18, 1928) was born in Malabon, Rizal. The son of a very prominent haciendero, he was popularly known as Don Panyong, During the Philippine Revolution, he published the La Libertad newspaper in Malabon together with Jose Zulueta.  After its censorship by the revolutionary government, he joined the editorial staff and wrote articles for Gen. Antonio Luna’s La Independencia with the pseudonym G. Solon. He sat as the Director of the Philippine Library and Museum on May 16, 1925.
