MARCH 7, 1945
President Sergio Osmeña signed an executive order that restored the executive departments.
The order also created the Department of Information as part of the Department of Public Instruction.
He handled the task of rehabilitating the country from the damages caused by World War II.
Osmeña was given the power to govern the areas that were liberated by American forces.
On March 8, 1945, he swore into office the members of his cabinet.
