Canada Post unveiled the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II stamp on February 6, 2022.
The stamp, designed by Paprika celebrates 70 years of the late Queen's ascension to the throne.
Doug Ettinger, President and CEO of Canada Post shared "Our iconic national stamp program has a long-standing tradition of commemorating The Queen's reign and her connection to Canada. We are proud to continue that tradition by celebrating this historic 70-year anniversary with a new stamp, and the first of our stamps to feature the Royal Mail's classic 'Machin' profile."
No previous British monarch has reigned long enough to celebrate a platinum (70-year) jubilee.
On February 6, 1952 at 25 years old, she ascended the throne on the death of her father, King George VI. The Queen died on September 8, 2022.
