OCTOBER 11, 1899
The Battle of Cavite or the Cavite Campaign which began on October 7, 1899 raged on.
After Emilio Aguinaldo’s forces attacked the Americans from Imus to Bacoor, and burning a large part of Paranaque on October 4, Gen. Elwell S. Otis ordered Brig. Gen. Theodore Schwan to punish the Filipino revolutionaries.
Schwan’s 1,774 troops and 63 scouts engaged the Filipinos in Cavite Viejo (now Kawit), Santa Cruz, Noveleta, Rosario, San Francisco de Malabon (now Gen. Trias) and Perez DasmariƱas.
By October 13, 1899, 100 revolutionaries died and 400 wounded.
