In Pristina, Kosovo, thousands of ethnic Albanians welcomed former US President Bill Clinton yesterday as he attended the unveiling of an 11-foot statue of himself.
The statue situated at a key boulevard bearing the president's name, is a tribute by ethnic Albanians for Clinton's leadership during the NATO bombings in Yugoslavia in 1999 that quelched the Serbian offensives against the ethnic Albanians. They look up to him as their hero.
Kosovo gained independence from Serbia last year.
