Far Eastern University's "Save the Tamaraw" Project
The Philippine Postal Corporation (Philpost) released on January 25, 2013 two stamps valued at P10 each highlighting Far Easter University's “Save the Tamaraw” project.
The Tamaraw is the mascot of the FEU athletic team. Since 2005 the students and faculty of FEU through its “Save the Tamaraw” project, has provided support for continual management and research-oriented program by participating in annual Tamaraw count held on April. FEU has additionally extended health and livelihood services for communities residing in and around the Iglit-Baco Range (an area near the Tamaraw habitat).
Stamp # 1 designed by Aaron Cedric Santos Manaloto illustrates the Tamaraw in a simple picture, It is incorporated with an aggressive look which is inherent to the Tamaraw. The colors green and yellow is included that symbolizes the FEU community.
Stamp # 2 is done by Ross Joseph Bolanos Copiaco and shows a tamaraw in its natural setting at sunset. The dignified look on its face shows that it is a survivor no matter what happens.
Victorino Z. Serevo did the stamps'layout with Ruth O. del Rosario and Elenita D.L. San Diego as design coordinators.
