Cebu Stamp Club's Danilo Cerence

As a lover of geography when he was a kid, Danny started collecting stamps when he was in grade school in Leyte. 

He joined the club in 1997 and it ignited his passion for collecting local and foreign stamps. 

He says ”that the passion is more important now that paper stamps may run out of circulation with the advent of digital communications and app-sharing deliveries. So being a philatelist and a member of the Cebu Stamp Club ensures that the good old stamps that was once essential to everyone and a global necessity that we love to collect, will not fade in the world's collective awareness and memory.”

Cebu Stamp Club's Kenneth Turner

Kenneth Turner is a retired Autralian national who collects Australian, UK and Philippine stamps. 

He joined the club in 2008 with Membership ID No. M080007. 

Ken is always a great host whenever we hold our stamp meetup in his place in Catmon. 

Food is always prepared for everyone and his wife Gina's manok bisaya (native chicken) dish is just so delicious 🇵🇭

Cebu Stamp Club's Renato Adapon

One of the passionate individuals we have known when it comes to history is philatelist/numismatist Renato Adapon. 

He loves to exhibit his collections in different venues in Davao City such as schools and malls. 

Rene joined the club in 2011 with Membership ID No. M110001. 

He renewed his club membership yesterday 🇵🇭

Cebu Stamp Club's Emie Patalagsa

The club is very grateful for all the support Emie has extended especially during exhibit presentations through the years. 

Emie Patalagsa is a Lifetime Member since 2007 with Membership ID No. M070005. 

She collects Philippine stamps and works at the House of Representatives 🇵🇭

Cebu Stamp Club's Edmund Gruenbaum

Edmund Gruenbaum is a retired engineer from Germany. 

He has been with the club since 2005 and is always present in club activities, affairs and get togethers. 

Edmund is one of the most active and staunch supporters of the club. 

He specializes in Germany and Philippine philately. 

He is a Lifetime Member of the club with Membership ID No. M050002 and the official club representative to Europe and Germany 🇵🇭

Cebu Stamp Club's David Figg

David Figg is a Lifetime Member of the club with Membership ID No. M120002. 

As CSCI President, I invited him to be the guest of honor during Cebu Stamp Club's 15th Anniversary celebration at Montebello Hotel's El Jardin Function Room on December 12, 2012 and cut the ceremonial ribbon of the Pedro Calungsod (John Paul II Celebration Exhibit Tour) at the Cebu City Museum. 

He was then the Australia 2013 World Stamp Exhibition Commission General. 

David is the current National Treasurer of the Australian Philatelic Federation, Vice President and Commissioner-General to the Melbourne 2024 International Exhibition, and State Treasurer of the SA Philatelic Council. 

In 2020, he was awarded Member of the Australian Philatelic Order 🇵🇭

Philippine Legislature Restores Flag Use

Today in Philippine History (Philatelic Edition):

OCTOBER 22, 1919

The 5th Philippine Legislature through Act. No. 2871 repealed Act. No. 1696, “an Act to prohibit the display of flags, banners, emblems, or devices used in the Philippine Islands for the purpose of rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States and the display of Katipunan flags, banners, emblems, or devices, and for other purposes.” 

Act. No. 2871 restored the use of the Philippine flag and the Governor-General was mandated to designate a day considered as an official holiday that will celebrate the restoration of the use of the Filipino flag.
