Far Eastern University's "Save the Tamaraw" Project


The Philippine Postal Corporation (Philpost)  released on January 25, 2013 two stamps valued at P10 each highlighting Far Easter University's “Save the Tamaraw” project.

The Tamaraw is the mascot of the FEU athletic team. Since 2005 the students and faculty of FEU through its “Save the Tamaraw” project, has provided support for continual management and research-oriented program by participating in annual Tamaraw count held on April. FEU has additionally extended health and livelihood services for communities residing in and around the Iglit-Baco Range (an area near the Tamaraw habitat).

Stamp # 1 designed by Aaron Cedric Santos Manaloto illustrates the Tamaraw in a simple picture, It is incorporated with an aggressive look which is inherent to the Tamaraw. The colors green and yellow is included that symbolizes the FEU community.

Stamp # 2 is done by Ross Joseph Bolanos Copiaco and shows a tamaraw in its natural setting at sunset. The dignified look on its face shows that it is a survivor no matter what happens.

Victorino Z. Serevo did the stamps'layout with Ruth O. del Rosario and Elenita D.L. San Diego as design coordinators.

The Pedro Calungsod Mall Tour @ Ayala Center Cebu

 
 
 
 
 
Cebu Stamp Club, the Philippines no. 1 stamp organization officially closes the Cebu Stamp Club @ 15 Anniversary Culmination Events with the mall tour of the Pedro Calungsod (John Paul II Celebration Exhibit l Tour 2013) at the Active Zone Atrium of Ayala Center Cebu on January 21 to 25, 2013.

This first-of-its-kind presentation celebrates the sainthood and the miracles of Pedro Calungsod as well as the greatness of John Paul II, the pontiff responsible for Calungsod's beatification in 2000.

The exhibit was officially opened to the public at 2:00 PM with Himlayang Pilipino Life's AVP Charles Mark Uybengkee and Dr. Anna Catherine Mae Bayani cutting the ceremonial ribbon. Cebu Stamp Club members came in full force.

Commissioner General David Figg at Cebu Stamp Club @ 15 Events


Mr. David Figg, the Commissioner General of Australia 2013 World Stamp Exhibition was the guest of honor at Cebu Stamp Club @ 15 Anniversary Culmination Events held at Montebello Villa Hotel and Cebu City Museum on December 28, 2012. 

As a token of the club’s gratitude, a Certificate of Appreciation along with the Lifetime Member (M120002) distinction was bestowed to him by President Richard Allan Uy for his invaluable support to Cebu Stamp Club in a ceremony held at the Montebello Villa Hotel, Cebu City, Philippines.

Inauguration Day Official Commemorative Souvenir Cover

The United States Postal Service (USPS) preserves a piece of history by issuing the Inauguration Day Official Commemorative Souvenir Cover beginning January 21, 2013. This 9 ½” x 4 ⅛” collectible envelope includes color portraits of President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden as well as a background illustration of the White House and typography printed in gold ink.

Available in limited quantity, this $9.95 souvenir cover also features a randomly-selected, Four Flags stamp cancelled with an official Inauguration Day color postmark, and includes a clear protective sleeve for preservation.

The Pedro Calungsod Canonization Post Card


Cebu Stamp Club came out with the  Limited Edition Pedro Calungsod Canonization Postcard to coincide with the opening of the Cebu Stamp Club @ 15 Anniversary Culmination Events held on December 28, 2012.

The postcard's design features Cebu's first saint, Pedro Calungsod with the Saint Peter's Basilica as the backdrop. The P9 stamp of the Canonization of Blessed Pedro Calungsod released by the Philippine Postal Corporation (Philpost) on October 21, 2012 is placed on the upper right corner of the card. The back portion shows the official cancellation of the events.

Mandaue City Executives and CSCI Officers @ The Ching Palace


Last night was such a wonderful evening for me and Charles Mark Uybengkee, Cebu Stamp Club's Board of Trustee together with Dr. Anna Catherine Mae Bayani, Ezekiel Bayani, Debbie Uy, Duchess Uybengkee and Jerald Kervin Uy as we got invited to a 10-course dinner by the family of Donna Yu Tarriman at The Ching Palace.

There we got the chance to have a casual chat with Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes and Vice Mayor Glenn Bercede who were also invited by the host. The mayor and the vice mayor are dynamic leaders who have steered the city towards prosperity and development.

Cebu Stamp Club @ 15 Anniversary Culmination Events

Cebu Stamp Club culminated its 15th anniversary celebration with twin events on December 28, 2012 with Australia 2013 World Stamp Exhibition Commissioner General David Figg coming over as the club's honored guest.

The Pedro Calungsod (John Paul II Celebration Exhibit 2012) was launched at the Cebu City Museum @ 10:00 AM. Immediately thereafter, Cebu Stamp Club members with Mr. David Figg and wife Dianne proceeded to El Jardin Function Room at Montebello Villa Hotel at 12:00 noon for the Anniversary Culmination Grand Party.

On January 21 - 25, 2013, the Pedro Calungsod (John Paul II Celebration Exhibit Tour 2013) will be launched at the Active Zone Atrium of Ayala Center Cebu and will officially end the event.
