Remembering 9/11

The whole world remembers today the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the United States.

The sheetlet featured here was issued by Grenada on October 26, 2011 to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the World Trade Center Bombings..

Happy Birthday Mama Mary!

Here's the world's first stamp that featured the Blessed Virgin Mary. This was issued in Bavaria on February 14, 1920. Happy birthday Mama Mary and thanks for always being there for me in my life! 

Farewell Neil Armstrong, (August 5, 1930 - August 25, 2012)

When I was a kid studying at Sacred Heart School for Boys, whenever I was asked by my teachers in class what I would like to become when I grow up, I can still recall myself answering that "I want to be an Astronaut!"

I was so amazed and mesmerized when I first saw the footage of Neil Armstong as he took his first step on the moon's surface. Up to this day, I consider him my idol.

Farewell US Astronaut Neil Armstrong. May you be safe in God's hands.

Cebu Stamp Club's August 2012 Stamp Meetup

It's Eyan Yu's birthday so the group decided to visit him to hold a meetup in his house. We usually meet on a Sunday but this was one of those exceptions.

Fernando Poe Jr. (National Artist for Cinema)

It's official! Fernando Poe Jr. popularly known as Da King or FPJ was formally conferred the National Artist for Cinema post humous award on August 16, 2012 by President Benigno "Noynoy" S. Aquino III.

Cebu Stamp Club's July 2012 Stamp Meeup

Unmindful of the typhoon weather, some Cebu Stamp Club members came for the July 2012 meeting held at the 2nd floor of McDonald's Jones. We appreciate the effort of those who came despite the very bad weather.
